D.I.K.O

DIKO is a one-click DivX/XVid to DVD/SVCD conversion tool. It encodes the required file using CinemaCraft Encoder 2.66 or 2.67, or using Nic's free encoder QuEnc; the latter comes bundled with the DIKO installation package. DIKO comes loaded with a number of features such as automatic bitrate calculation, conversion of audio, and automatic frame rate conversions including the audio and subtitles. The tool can execute frame rate conversions even with 5.1-channel audio. One of the most interesting aspects of this tool was subtitles for a 2-CD DivX movies can be joined on the fly. This means you can add subtitles to a movie as it is being converted from one format to the other.

The tool has inbuilt capabilities to check for errors and avoid bad-quality encoding. DIKO lets you add multiple file for conversions in the movie list. Both files must have the same properties, though. DIKO also assumes that if you're adding another file in the Movie File Box it is the second part of the earlier file.

The tool isn't exactly fast at conversion. A five-minute AVI clip took well over 15 minutes to be converted into DVD format. Converting it to an (S)VCD took around the same amount of time.
